Each year between June and October, giant Southern Right Whales return to the waters of Victor Harbor's Encounter Bay.
It is estimated that only 3000 Southern Right Whales exist in the world, making viewing of these splendid creatures a memorable occasion.

The South Australian Whale Centre delivers a quality facility, featuring exciting new displays. These portray both the historical and current relationship of whales with Victor Harbor and feature interactive exhibits on other creatures of the deep including sharks, dolphins and local endangered species.
