Return to Ballina

The 2008 Ballina Relay for Life will be held at Kingsford Smith Park on Saturday the 1st and Sunday the 2nd of November. The 2008 Relay will again be an 18 hour event commencing 4.00pm on Saturday afternoon and concluding at 10.00am Sunday morning.

The amount of time that each team spends on the track is not the most important part of Relay. Whilst there will be those teams who choose to be on the track for the event's duration, please remember that this comes second to being involved and raising some much needed money. Please reinforce to your potential team members that there is no expectation that they must spend the entire 18 hours at the Relay. Many participants will choose to attend only parts of the event such as the opening ceremony (which incorporates the "Survivors Walk") or the "Candlelight Ceremony". Don't forget though that there will be lots of things happening to entertain the participants.

To launch this year's Ballina Relay there will be a "Scare Away Cancer Dinner Dance" at the Ballina RSL on Friday the 4th of July. The evening will be a great way to begin drumming up enthusiasm from your team. Information about the evening is included with this email and, as you can see, it will be great value for those that can make it along. Dinner at Ballina's award winning RSL and entertainment from Fossil Rock for only $40; tables of ten can be booked at the club.
