From 2009/03/01 To 2009/12/31

The Australian Chamber Orchestra is a product of our country’s vibrant, adventurous, and inquiring spirit. Under the visionary leadership of violinist Richard Tognetti, the ACO is an ensemble of virtuosos engaged with music at the highest level: seventeen minds thinking and breathing as one. Discover why the ACO has been called the 'best small orchestra in the world'.

ACO2 & Kuusisto - Our brilliant Emerging Artists orchestra, ACO2, performs under the leadership of Pekka Kuusisto.

Bach & Sibelius - Thrilling music-making from Pekka Kuusisto and the ACO from Baroque gems to folk fiddling.

Luminous - An exquisite collaboration between photographer Bill Henson, Richard Tognetti and the ACO. A dance of music and light.

Great Romantics - Two masterpieces by the masters of Romanticism: Brahms's String Sextet in G and Transfigured Night.

Resonance - An expanded ACO performs resonant music for massed strings including Vaughan Williams's 'Tallis Fantasia'.

Mozart & Mendelssohn - Anthony Marwood has a great affinity with the ACO, as you'll hear when he guest directs and performs a violin concerto by Schumann.

Girl with the Golden Flute - Sharon Bezaly has been called 'God's gift to the flute'. Plus the world premiere of a new work by Peteris Vasks for Richard Tognetti.

Beethoven 4 - Dejan Lazic is soloist in Beethoven's poetic Fourth Piano Concerto with the witty and wise Fourth Symphony.

Barry Humphries - Two Australian legends on stage: Barry Humphries and the ACO in a dazzling evening of entertainment.
