Temora Golden Gift - Temora
The Temora Golden Gift is a prestigious professional foot racing carnival held annually in February, attracting over 120 pro athletes and 200 regional athletes.
Revived in 1988, The Gift is a professional athletic carnival and one of the biggest events of its kind in the state attracting competitors both nationally and internationally due to its excellent reputation.
Held on the second Saturday of February each year, sponsorship ensures the tradition of a handsome prize and gold coin to the winner. Temora’s Nixon Park has a premier grass track, recognised by the nation's top sprint pro runners and dubbed as the "fast grass" track.
Pole-vaulting is also on the agenda, which attracts interstate vaulters. This pole-vaulting event is the only professional competition out side the metropolitan areas in Australia.
