Discovering Tropical Birds Program - Darwin
Have you always wanted to view the Northern Territory's unique tropical birdlife? Now is the time to do it with the exciting Discovering Tropical Birds program offered by Charles Darwin University.
The Top End of Australia is a birdwatcher's paradise, boasting almost half of the bird species found in Australia and many that only occur in the tropics.
This six day program combines learning and travel to provide bird enthusiasts to learn more about and view birds in their tropical environment.
Ornithologist and leader of the program, Dr Richard Noske, Senior Lecturer - Biology at Charles Darwin University, will be your course presenter and guide. Richard has over twenty years' experience researching birds and will take you to the best birding locations.
The first two days combine presentations based at Charles Darwin University's campus and local Darwin field trips. This is followed by a four day field trip which takes you to Kakadu National Park and the regions surrounding Pine Creek, Mataranka and Katherine. The small group size gives you optimal viewing experiences and the opportunity to interact with your presenter and other participants.
Program dates for 2008 are July 7th-12th and October 6th-11th. For further information and program details, visit our website www.cdu.edu.au/ehs/science/discoveringtropicalbirds
