From 2009/04/11 To 2009/04/19

The Barossa Vintage Festival is the largest and longest running wine tourism festival in Australia.

If you are a wine-buff, there are many ways of indulging. The ‘Rare & Distinguished Wine Auction’ is a must – many of the wines are seen here and nowhere else. ‘Legends Behind the Barrel’ provides you with the opportunity to meet the person who made the wine.

If you are looking for family-friendly activities, don’t miss the opening carnival in the grounds of beautiful Seppeltsfield Winery with activities and entertainment for the entire family.

Each of the Town Days has its own unique character and every town wants to show why it is the best. The ‘Yalumba Harvest Market’ showcases fine Barossa produce in an idyllic setting, while ‘Ziegenmarkt’ provides a unique glimpse into a traditional Barossa market. The ‘Festival Parade’ from Nuriootpa to Tanunda is another great tradition providing free family entertainment.

Commencing Easter Saturday, this traditional celebration has something for everyone. From food and wine, arts and crafts, to music and history - there is something to entertain, please and inspire.

The Vintage Festival is a biennial event that runs over nine days, encompassing all aspects of the Barossa community. Wineries are joined by businesses, civic groups, churches and individuals to stage more than 100 events that make up the festival.

The festival celebrated its 60th Anniversary in 2007. With the theme 'Celebrate the Blend' the festival showcases the rich diversity of the Barossa region and celebrates the food, the wine and the people. Today, the Barossa is South Australia's leading wine tourism asset and the Barossa Vintage Festival continues to be the jewel in the Barossa's event calendar.
