Flinders Lane Gallery is one of Australia's leading commercial galleries. Located in the heart of Melbourne's arts precinct, the gallery exhibits a select group of Contemporary and Aboriginal artists focusing on quality, diversity, and vitality. The gallery has exhibited Indigenous art since its inception in 1989. Director Claire Harris is committed to promoting the work of Australian Contemporary and Indigenous artists, and exhibits a range of museum quality artworks. Aboriginal works from the famous Papunya and Utopia regions are of particular specialty. Such master painters as Emily Kame Kngwarreye and the late Minnie Pwerle exhibited at Flinders Lane Gallery and are represented in national and international private and public collections.

With a lineage of 40,000 years, contemporary Aboriginal artists have generated a renaissance of visual art by translating traditional symbolism into strikingly modern images. The art of Aboriginal Australia is now regarded as a unique worldwide contemporary art movement. Flinders Lane Gallery is a member of Art Trade, a national organization committed to ethical conduct within the field of Indigenous art and is proud to have longstanding relationships with the communities represented. Exhibiting this work within the context of the contemporary international art market and with respect for its complex spiritual and cultural traditions, Flinders Lane Gallery represents some of the most renowned names from this extraordinary art movement.
