The Freeway Bike Hike for Asthma is WA's largest cycling event! The event began in 2005 with close to 6000 cyclists taking part and involves closing the southbound lanes of the Mitchell and Kwinana and the eastbound lanes of the Graham Farmer freeways.

The event is a major annual fundraising event for the Asthma Foundation of Western Australia which provides education services, research grants and community awareness for asthma. Asthma effects some 220,000 Western Australians and is still the number one cause of children being admitted to hospital. The aim of the event is for participants and their supporters to raise much needed funds for the Asthma Foundation of WA. In 2008 the online registration system was upgraded to allow people to securely make donations and sponsor participants online using their credit card therefore making it easier to support the asthma cause.

The event now includes a 10km Family Ride, a 30km ride which includes your only chance to ride through the Graham Farmer Tunnel, and new to 2008 is the 60km ride from Kwinana Train Station. All categories finish at a central point in the Joondalup CBD. To celebrate this year's event we have a special line of Freeway Bike Hike for Asthma merchandise supplied by Scody which can still be ordered online via www.scody.com.au
