Mareeba
- The largest town on the Atherton Tableland, Mareeba serves as the region's administrative centre and is the beginning of the Outback. It is a town of many cultures, reflected in its cafes and delicatessens; it is also a great place to shop. Crops grown include sugarcane, mangos, tea-trees and coffee; mining and horticulture are also important to the local economy.
