Kalgoorlie-Boulder
- Irish prospector Paddy Hannan's lucky strike in 1893 started the last great goldrush in Australia's history, leading to the establishment of the twin towns of Kalgoorlie and Boulder, 597km east of Perth. Kalgoorlie-Boulder's Golden Mile, believed to be the world's richest square mile of gold-bearing ore, still yields gold.
