The Outback Coast is an environmental wonderland found in Australia's north west. It is rapidly growing in stature as Australia's premier soft adventure and eco-tourism destination.

The region has an approximate area of 144,000 square kilometres encompassing a rugged outback of brown sandy plains and rocky highlands including Mt Augustus and the Kennedy Range. To the west, the outback meets 600 kilometres of stunning coastline edged with white sandy beaches and aqua waters from Shark Bay and Ningaloo Reef.

There is no shortage of enjoyment in the Gascoyne outback. Immerse yourself in wildflowers, spot birds and animals, explore the Kennedy Range and marvel at the world's largest monolith - Mount Augustus.

Mount Augustus is twice the size of Uluru (Ayers Rock) and has a stepped formation and tress on its flanks. The granite formation is estimated to be 1750 million years old.

At Ningaloo Marine Park - Western Australia's version of the Great Barrier Reef - you can swim alongside the world's largest fish, the whale shark. Come, too, for colourful reef fish, coral, turtles, and whales.

The dolphins of Monkey Mia, in Shark Bay, make their appearance virtually every day of the year. Stand up to your knees in the warm water and they swim right up and brush past. At other times they jump and surf and simply have fun.

The warm mellow climate of this region makes the Outback Coast the perfect all year round playground.
