Arid Recovery is an ecosystem restoration initiative based in the South Australian outback and dedicated to the recovery of arid lands.
Established in 1997, the project is centred within a unique 123 square kilometre fenced reserve from which all feral cats, rabbits and foxes have been eradicated providing for the reintroduction of locally extinct species and rehabilitation of natural habitat to restore ecosystem.
Arid Recovery is a unique example of industry, government, education and community working together in a four way partnership supporting the project and also unique in that it is a scientific project that provides the opportunity for members of the community to visit the reserve and to share the experience.

- Arid Recovery has opened its arid lands ecosystem restoration project to guided tag-a-long interpretive sunset tours where members of the public can experience how vibrant and widely inhabited Australia's outback was before European settlement and before the introduction of pastoralism and feral animals devastated and denuded the environment breaking down its natural processes. A unique exclusion fence protects the reserve inside of which cats, foxes and rabbits have been removed. Visitors will see reintroduced locally extinct species in their natural habitat and will gain an understanding of the importance of these creatures in the regeneration process and during the four hour dusk tour they will enjoy activities including tracking, spotlighting and a visit to the nocturnal hide after watching the sun set over an ancient landscape. Operates: Start times may vary according to sunset times and day time tours can be arranged on application.
