Airlines PNG is a Papua New Guinea headquartered aviation company, which was founded by John Wild back in the 1950’s.

Airlines PNG is one of PNG’s two major international and domestic airlines servicing more than 120 aerodromes - often in remote locations without any alternative means of transport - with over 400 scheduled and charter flights per week.

Papua New Guinea relies on air transport probably more than any other country in the world. Its rugged terrain - extending from its coastal areas to its highlands (with mountains rising up to over 14,000 feet) and rapidly changing tropical weather patterns, make for a challenging aviation environment.

Airlines PNG fly Cairns to Port Moresby daily Monday - Friday and to Port Moresby on Saturdays and Cairns on Sundays. They have an office in Cairns and Port Moresby. They offer a friendly service with fewer passengers so there is very little waiting if any for queues. This means you get great personal service and there is plenty of extra legroom.

Recent additions to their Dash8 fleet have been introduced as well as a “first of type - state of the art” In-Flight Entertainment System for the Dash8 aircraft. There are three movie screens located on board; one in the forward bulkhead and the other two in the cabin area with clear viewing and cordless headsets for the discerning traveller. This in-flight system makes for a comfort and entertainment factor not previously experienced in this commuter type aircraft and is a proud addition by Airlines PNG to benefit their valued clients.
