The Entrance to Lemon Tree Passage
We had packed up and left The Entrance by 9:30am and drove to Newcastle where we cleaned up the car, boat and van then drove through to Nelson Bay.
We were keen to find a place that we could settle in for a week or so and therefore made a point to check out a few places in Port Stephens before we settled on a camp.
Our first stop was Anna Bay which is on the surf beach. The van park was nice but it was full. We drove back past the Port Stephens winery and avocado farm which we will return to another day.
We went back to Lemon Tree Passage which resides on the bay around half an hour from Anna Beach and booked into Koala Shores. Koala Shores was a brilliantly appointed van park with excellent facilities and outlook to the water. The bay is tidal so there are mud flats here at low tide.
The weather was very humid so we were quick to have a swim once we set up camp.
We had bought some fresh vegetables from Anna Bay so in the evening we cooked up a curry for tea.
