Phillip Island Trip - Day Three
Saturday 5th January, 2008
Summer this year in Victoria seems to be warmer than usual. I guess we say that each year but there has been a consistent string of warm weather since November. Today is no different, we are expecting 37 degrees so we decide the best way to tackle this heat is to swim and wear Jess out early, then head home before lunch.
We stopped at Tooradin, a small township that sits on the highway approximately half way between Melbourne and Phillip Island, for lunch and some more happy snaps.
Tooradin offers a great more than I ever expected and we easily spent an hour wondering around, despite the heat of the day.
I make a note to return to Tooradin with my Tinny (small boat) as it is only 50 minutes from home and has good launching facilities for boats. I suspect that the mangroves and inlet would remain sheltered for my little craft, and the water looks like it might produce some flat head, whiting or bream.
We wondered home after lunch at the bakery and spent the afternoon swimming with the kids.
