Lake Conjola located near Jervis Bay in southern NSW, offers exceptional camping, fishing and scenery. Lake Conjola is not particularly close to any of the major cities in this part of the world. It is a couple of hours from Canberra to the south and Sydney to the north, consequently, the population is low which adds to the appeal and charm.

Lake Conjola - Southern New South Wales

When I travelled Australia the duration of our stay directly correlated to whether or not I could leave my tinny in the water. We stumbled by chance across a quiet little town in Southern New South Wales that allowed me to do just that, Lake Conjola.

The moment we arrived I had a good feeling about the place. The water was so clear the fish surely stood no chance and a row of boats lined the caravan park which ran directly to the waters edge. I cannot speak more highly of the setting. The Lake (and entrance) on one side and surf beach the other.

Small boats bobbed in the water directly in front of vans or tents. This is a blessing for the travelling fisherman who has a car topper and does not enjoy packing up a boat (without a trailer) after a long day of lazing about relaxing. It tends to take a shine off the experience. If you are passing by this area on the way to Jervis Bay, I suggest a drive down to Lake Conjola will be well worth the detour.

A golf course was in development when we passed through (2003), I suggest it would established by now.
