A brief guide to all the attractions and facilities on the North-West Coast of Tasmania.

Devonport City is perhaps most well known for being the hub into Tasmania via The Spirit of Tasmania. Also featuring its own airport, Devonport offers the visitor to Tasmania an easy entry point to other parts of the state and indeed the North-West Coast.

Central Coast encompasses a number of both rural and seaside villages including Penguin, Ulverstone and Forth. Penguin is most famous for it’s idyllic seaside location and some of the best cafes and restaurants the North-West has to offer.

Burnie offers both the best of the city and rural lifestyles. With a range of shops, cafes and restaurants, every traveller to the region is sure to enjoy both Burnie and its surrounds.

King Island offers a range of attractions but most well known is the King Island Dairy, which offers visitors a tantalising range of cheeses and other dairy products. Also on offer is a range of diving and fishing charters.

Kentish/Latrobe are most well known for their access to Cradle Mountain, arguably Tasmania’s most iconic National Park. Whilst this is certainly a highlight both Kentish and Latrobe areas also offer a number of other attractions to suit a range of tastes. For example Sheffield is also renowned for its large number of murals and Latrobe is also the gateway to Port Sorell and Shearwater, which are both booming because of their close proximity to one of the nicest beaches on the Coast.

Waratah/Wynyard and the surrounding area is a great place to visit with lots to see and do. Being only minutes from the Burnie Airport at Wynyard, Leisure Ville is the perfect base for you to explore local scenery including Table Cape, The Nut (at nearby Stanley), Cradle Mountain and Tarkine Forest Adventures (Dismal Swamp). Wynyard offers highlights such as penguin tours, fishing, shopping and much more.

The Circular Head area encompasses both Stanley and Smithton. It is recommended to take in both of these towns because while Stanley offers an insight into both the days of yesteryear, Smithton provides an insight into Tasmania’s timber industry, and the people that take part.

The West Coast offers a range of rugged mining landscapes to quaint seaside villages. Whilst in the area ensure to take part in a river cruise or train ride through some of the state’s most pristine rainforest.

Leisure Ville Holiday Centre is situated at the heart of the beautiful North-West Coast of Tasmania and is the perfect base for you to explore what this region has to offer.
