Mudgee, 264km NW of Sydney sits on the Cudgegong River which is responsible for the fertile soil that has attracted 50 wineries to this district. If Orange and Cowra are known for wine, be sure to compare tasting notes of wines from Mudgee before buying a case of your favorite Pinot Noir!

Cowra
- Located on the Lachlan River, 311km west of Sydney, Cowra is a busy country town. Part of a thriving farming district, much of the New South Wales asparagus crop, tomatoes and corn are processed at the local cannery. Cowra is also well-known for its wineries. A number of vineyards are open for wine tasting and cellar door sales.
