Holiday Ideas Around Kiama & Shell Harbour, South Coast NSW
Only a few hours drive south from Sydney, visitors staying in accommodation on the South Coast of NSW can find a charming strip of pristine coastline offering the sandy coves around Kiama to the surfing beaches of Shoalhaven.
If you haven’t been to Shell Harbour, you’ll soon learn it is the water-lovers playground with canoeing on Lake Illawarra, reef fishing from the boat or surfing off the beach.
If you need to take a break from the coast, take time to explore the picturesque and historic towns such as Jamberoo other quiet rural villages which offer a good selection of accommodation for every travellers budget.
A main attraction for many to this area has got to be the elevated boardwalks that run through the lush Minnamurra Rainforest in Budderoo National Park.
Although not the place you may end up staying, you will most probably arrive or travel through the commercial and tourist centre for the South Coast/Shoalhaven Region, Nowra.
Nowra is located about 80km south of Wollongong on the southern bank of the Shoalhaven River. Just over the river from Nowra is Bomaderry where visitors can catch the train to Sydney.
The area between Nowra and Shell Harbour is an area everyone should explore, with some much on offer from beaches to rainforest, your only problem will be fitting it all in!
