If you are looking for a romantic eco sensitive hideaway, with excellent facilities and superb service look no further than Kewarra Beach Resort in Cairns.

We have just spend the most amazing 6 days at this beautiful private resort. We found out about it on the internet and what a wonderful find it has proved to be...Kewarra Beach Resort is a little "Gem" situated about 7 miles north from the city of Cairns. We were so glad that we decided not to stay in the city as it is too touristy and just like any other small city without too much character and backpackers everywhere.

We had complimentary airport transfer service included in our booking so we were met a Cairns airport and a short drive later we arrived at what can only be described as "Paradise", the warm friendly greeting with a refreshing tropical cocktail and immediately we felt like we had arrived at a long lost friend's home. We were taken on a lovely walk through the tropical gardens to our forest bungalow and on the way we were told all about the amazing wildlife and plant life including some incredible butterflies and colourful birds that abound on the property's rainforest setting. Our bungalow was situated beside a freshwater lagoon and was spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully presented with fresh flowers on the bed. We were celebrating our anniversary and the manager arranged for a bottle of Champagne to be delivered to our bungalow.

The food at Kewarra was without doubt the best we had anywhere in Australia and the service was attentive, friendly and very professional, in fact we have promised to keep in touch with a number of the caring staff who were always happy to go out of their way to please. The Champagne Jelly Dessert that Kathy did was to die for. They also had a lovely little beachside cafe that we thoroughly enjoyed for a sunset cocktail when we got back from exploring the region at the end of the day.

All the day tours and local experiences will pick up at Kewarra so we did not have to worry about having to hire a car, but if you are planning to be a bit more independent hiring a car might be a good idea. They have car hire available at the resort. Because we booked a 6 night stay we received a special offer of a free trip for the two to the Great Barrier Reef which was out of this world, we enjoyed it so much we actually booked to go out again a couple of days later. Kewarra has a team of staff who are all from the local area and are very knowledgeable about the various touring options and they certainly did not disappoint us with their helpful advice. We took a day safari to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation region which was brilliant and on one morning went on a Hot Air Champagne balloon flight...it's an early start but well worth it.

Kewarra Beach Resort is perfect for getting away from the tourist crowds and offered the perfect balance of being secluded without being remote or isolated. So if you are looking for a romantic, eco sensitive hideaway with excellent facilities that offers superb service look no further than Kewarra Beach Resort.

We are already planning a return visit and will be highly recommending Kewarra Beach Resort to our friends as a must do experience in Australia.

Lying at the centre of a tropical paradise on the shores of Trinity Bay, Cairns is full of natural attractions. It is a stepping-off point to so much, including the Great Barrier Reef, rainforests and scenic hinterland such as the Cape York Peninsula.
