Deception Bay is fast becoming the holiday location for Brisbane

Location, affordability, relaxed lifestyle and the perfect place to relax and unwind for a quick get-away or to base yourself and day trip, Deception Bay is fast becoming the "Riverina" of Brisbane.
In the past 7 years, Deception Bay has almost doubles it's population as Melbourneans and Sydney-siders opt for a Qld-change and with a more relaxed lifestyle. Deception Bay is being seen more and more as the affordable location for young families and land and housing prices are reflecting this.
Tourism is also hitting the once-sleepy sea-side hamlet with more and more overseas visitors choosing to base themselves in the area and day-trip. Locals are also discovering Deception Bay as an alternative to battling the traffic into Brisbane for a cheap night out.
Deception Bay is only 1/2 hour North of Brisbane, but far enough out of the rat-race. It is 1 hour from the Gold Coast & Theme parks, 40 minutes to Australia Zoo and 1 hour to Noosa & the Sunshine Coast.

Deception Bay
- The curiously named town of Deception Bay in Caboolture Shire lies approximately 30 kilometres north of Brisbane, at the southern end of the bay of the same name. It is called Deception Bay because when discovered by Lieutenant John Oxley in 1823, he thought the bay was a river because of its unusual shallowness.
