Big Hill Mountain Bike Park (Mount Beauty) is Australia's Mountain Bike Capital
This is a fabulous and challenging mountain bike park, with a trail head only a convenient few hundred meters from the main shopping center, cafe's and bakery. This park has been the site of a number of national and state championship events. There are national and state downhill and cross country courses.
Only a few minutes ride from your accommodation in Mount Beauty you can be challenging yourself on these championship courses. If race courses are not your scene then there are dozens of cross country touring trails from easy to hard in the forests, national park and high plains surrounding Mount Beauty. Some start and finish in Mount Beauty while others require a car shuffle.

- Situated at the foot of Mount Bogong, the highest peak in Victoria, Mount Beauty was built in the 1940s to house the workers on the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme. Located 338km NE of Melbourne, the town is one of Australia's best mountain-biking areas, it also attracts bushwalkers, especially in summer. In winter it is a popular base for skiers.
