Mornington Peninsula (Vic) a kaleidoscope of activities only 60 minutes from Melbourne

The Mornington Peninsula is embraced by the water of Port Philip Bay, Western Port Bay and Bass Strait, offering both bay beaches and surf beaches, add to that the mix of distinctly Australian native bush land, and valley of trellised  vines. There is something for all to enjoy, antiques centres, and markets, galleries and bushwalks, horse riding or racing, strip shopping, award winning restaurants and wineries and golf courses. It is no wonder that for generations Melbournians have escaped their daily grind, to enjoy the kaleidoscope of activities only 60 minutes away.

The Mornington Peninsula is so diverse; it doesn't matter what your reason is to visit; or what season you choose, whatever your tastes or preferences, there is always something to do, see, or explore.   It is one hour from Melbourne, a ferry ride from Queenscliffe & The Great Ocean Road or an easy drive from Phillip Island. Being a Peninsula everything is accessible, its common when speaking of places to go to on the Peninsula for a local to say "oh it's only 20 minutes from here"

Mornington
First settled in the 1840s, Mornington is now a growing residential area which retains its seaside village atmosphere. Its location makes it a good base for exploring the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.
