The cry of most visitors: ‘I wish I had stayed longer!’
The Atherton Tablelands, Australia's secret garden
The coast has been well publicized by big companies, not so the Atherton Tablelands yet it offers all that an enlightened tourist could wish for. Superb scenery, uncluttered roads, wildlife, charming country towns, natural wonders, breathtaking sunsets, rainforest and the list goes on. No bus crowds, no skyscrapers, however there is plenty of accommodation, restaurants, and the ‘locals’ are friendly and ready to help.
One very important point: there are no flies! So leave ‘the great Australian salute’ at home and come and shake hands!
