Ross wins the 2008 Tasmanian Tidy Towns Award.
The village will be entered into the National Tidy Towns Awards, to be announced in April 2008. The judges comment:
"I was greatly impressed by the wide ranging programs, especially the major willow removal in the Macquarie River, which have had a positive impact on all aspects of community life (in Ross)". Judge Barrie Muir.
Ross is a comfortable mix of beautifully presented historic buildings and hardworking tourism and agricultural businesses.
