Church Markets

On the first Saturday of each month, the Church Markets are held in the grounds of St John’s Anglican Church from 9am to 1pm. A country town just isn’t a country town without markets to explore. Why not time your visit to coincide with one of the regular monthly markets and discover a range of stall holders to grab some locally grown produce, freshly made breads and cheeses, olive oil, handmade textiles, arts and crafts, jewellery, pre-loved books, clothes, knick-knacks and more.

Flavours of Mudgee

Mudgee Farm Walks

If you’ve ever wondered exactly what ‘free range’ means, wanted to get in touch with the seasons, or show your children exactly where their food comes from, Mudgee Fine Foods have come up with a great idea to get people back to grass roots level. Join them on a guided farm walk, where you can get your hands dirty on a working farm. From their great range of producers, two farms are chosen each month. Depending on the season, you may get to see olive oil production, free-range pork, locally grown vegetables, vineyards, a fig orchard or a working winery. Farm walk participants get to meet the farmer, ask them questions and hear how passionate they are about what they produce. According to the season, you will be shown various stages of their production.

Mudgee Fine Foods Farmers' Markets

The Mudgee Fine Foods Farmers' Markets are held in the picturesque grounds of St Marys Church, every third Saturday of the month. The markets are always on – come rain, hail or shine. Find them in the hall if it is wet. Grab a bacon and egg roll, team it with a freshly brewed coffee, and listen to local musicians play as you browse the great range of stalls. Chat to their specialist food producers before selecting some great produce to take home. All products sold have been grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stallholders themselves. The Mudgee Farmers' Markets are an authentic Farmers Market, and operate under strict Farmers Market guidelines, so you can be sure all produce sold at the markets is produced as close to their market as possible.

Mudgee Hot Air Ballooning Festival

The Mudgee Hot Air Ballooning Festival is an exciting new week long event in the Mudgee Region that will feature: Mudgee NIght Glow: A fantastic family event where hot air balloons will light up the night sky at Glen Willow Stadium in a choreographed light display all set to music. Balloons and Bubbles Breakfast at Blue Wren: Spectators will take in a magnificent hot air balloon display while enjoying a glass of locally produced Bubbles on the lawns of Blue Wren Wines followed by a delicious Blue Wren Breakfast. The Australian National Hot Air Ballooning Championships - Attracting the best pilots from around the country, the Australian National Hot Air Ballooning Championships will include five days of competition hot air balloon flying over the picturesque town of Mudgee and beautiful nearby townships as pilots vie for the title of Australian Hot Air Ballooning Champion.

Mudgee Night Glow

Glen Willow Stadium will host the first-ever Mudgee Night Glow. The evening will include a family friendly night market offering some of the region’s best food, wine and hand-made crafts, along with live musical performances to entertain you. The festivities will also include roving performers, face-painting and jumping castles to keep kids of all ages entertained. This event is all about lighting up the night so glow-in-the-dark t-shirts, glasses, headbands and other glow items will all be available for purchase during the event so that you can get your glow on. The main event will be the spectacular balloon Night Glow which will see hot air balloons inflated and tethered in the Glen Willow Stadium. The Night Glow will be choreographed to music and will culminate with a spectacular fireworks display. It will be on from 5pm to 9pm. This event is weather dependent. In the unlikely event of extreme weather, ticket holders will receive an email on the day of the event advising of event cancellation and all tickets would be refunded in full. Sculptures in the Garden

Sculptures in the Garden is an exciting event that combines garden design, large scale Australian sculpture and traditional art mediums in beautiful rural surroundings within a private garden and vineyard in Mudgee. Proceeds from the weekend exhibition go to the Mudgee Support Group of Guide Dogs NSW/ACT, and a local arts initiative to create a sculpture walk in Mudgee's Lawson Park.
