Church Markets

Upcoming markets cancelled until further notice due to COVID-19 concerns. On the first Saturday of each month, the Church Markets are held in the grounds of St John’s Anglican Church. A country town just isn’t a country town without markets to explore. Why not time your visit to coincide with one of the regular monthly markets and discover a range of stall holders to grab some locally grown produce, freshly made breads and cheeses, olive oil, handmade textiles, arts and crafts, jewellery, pre-loved books, clothes, knick-knacks and more.

Grapest 5K Run at Bunnamagoo Estate

Who said you can’t drink wine and exercise? Have your wine and drink it too, they say! They bet you’ve never run a race quite like the Grapest 5k Run! Experience a great evening with friends, with a little fitness and lots of fun. You will work up a thirst with the five or ten kilometre run through Bunnamagoo's picturesque vineyard. Then enjoy a cool down through the wine tasting waddle to re-energise yourself before some grape dancing with live entertainment as the sun goes down. Transport: Buses are available and will depart from Robertson Park (Market Street, Mudgee) from late morning, and depart Bunnamagoo at the conclusion of the event.

Mudgee Classic

Bicycling Australia is pleased to announce the newest addition to the Cycling Classics family – the Mudgee Classic. Located just 268 kilometres north-west of Sydney, Mudgee is known for its rolling hills, exquisite food and rustic charm vineyards. And enjoys a bustling enthusiastic cycling culture! Catering for all levels of cycling ability, the event offers three courses: The Maxi Classic (170 kilometres) – for the seasoned rider who is looking for a real challenge as they go through the Munghorn National Park and stunning Bylong Valley on route back to Mudgee. The Challenge Classic (110 kilometres) – will see riders roll out to stunning Rylstone, perhaps one of the most iconic country towns in NSW. The Social Classic (35 kilometres) – for the more relaxed rider, where they will enjoy the rolling hills and the smell of wine on a more causal ride.

Mudgee Farm Walks

Upcoming Walks cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns If you’ve ever wondered exactly what ‘free range’ means, wanted to get in touch with the seasons, or show your children exactly where their food comes from, Mudgee Fine Foods have come up with a great idea to get people back to grass roots level. Join them on a guided farm walk, where you can get your hands dirty on a working farm. From their great range of producers, two farms are chosen each month. Depending on the season, you may get to see olive oil production, free-range pork, locally grown vegetables, vineyards, a fig orchard or a working winery. Farm walk participants get to meet the farmer, ask them questions and hear how passionate they are about what they produce. According to the season, you will be shown various stages of their production.

Mudgee Fine Foods Farmers' Markets

Upcoming Markets cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns The Mudgee Fine Foods Farmers' Markets are held in the picturesque grounds of Robertson Park, every third Saturday of the month. The markets are always on – come rain, hail or shine. Find them in the hall if it is wet. Grab a bacon and egg roll, team it with a freshly brewed coffee, and listen to local musicians play as you browse the great range of stalls. Chat to their specialist food producers before selecting some great produce to take home. All products sold have been grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stallholders themselves. The Mudgee Farmers' Markets are an authentic Farmers Market, and operate under strict Farmers Market guidelines, so you can be sure all produce sold at the markets is produced as close to their market as possible.

Mudgee Heritage Walking Tours

Mudgee Readers' Festival

This boutique festival attracts writers, readers, families and book clubs for a fun and social weekend of great wine, great food and terrific conversation. Find your story in Mudgee: Mudgee Readers' Festival offers Reader in Residence sessions, an Australian Poetry Slam heat, comedy and storytelling events, cooking and science sessions, plus the Mudgee Young Readers’ Festival and Long Lazy Lunch! You will need to get in early as some of their intimate events book out quickly.

Mudgee Wine and Food Festival

11 September 2020 to 04 October 2020
The Mudgee Wine and Food Festival is happening again in 2020 with festivities kicking off mid September and continuing throughout the month of September. This is one of New South Wales’ longest running wine and food festivals and will feature a diverse range of events including live music, tastings, lunches, dinners and tours. While there is a number of signature events of the Festival each participating winery is offering their own unique experience. This ranges from food and wine pairing, special tastings, platters and tasting flights. Full details and key events during the 2020 festival will be finalised in mid 2020.

Sculptures in the Garden

Sculptures in the Garden is an exciting event that combines garden design, large scale Australian sculpture and traditional art mediums in beautiful rural surroundings within a private garden and vineyard in Mudgee. Proceeds from the weekend exhibition go to the Mudgee Support Group of Guide Dogs NSW/ACT, and a local arts initiative to create a sculpture walk in Mudgee's Lawson Park.

Town Hall Cinema

Upcoming Date Cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns Town Hall Cinema in Mudgee - first weekend of each month. There is a candy bar at the Cinema, serving fresh popcorn, snacks and drinks. Tickets for the movies will generally go on sale the week prior to the screening. Mudgee Library staff can guide you through the online ticketing process if required. Cash sales will still be available at the Cinema on the weekend, if not previously sold out.
