Crocodile Express was the first wildlife cruise operator on the Daintree River in 1979. Your cruise will take you along sections of this spectacular waterway with your guide pointing out wildlife and flora along the foreshore and creeks. Their naturalist guides will interpret the importance of this amazing World Heritage location. A cruise on the Daintree River is a "must-do" activity as part of your Daintree Rainforest experience. The vessels are well equipped, comfortable and stable in all weather conditions. Crocodile Express is the only operator with two different departure points along a twelve kilometre stretch of the river. This gives visitors the best opportunities to see wildlife and the diversity of this amazing eco system. From rainforest to mangroves the scenery is spectacular. The Upper Daintree section from Daintree Village is especially popular for bird watching and departures from Daintree Gateway near the Daintree River Ferry crossing offers spectacular views of Thornton Peak, rainforest and mangroves. Daintree River is well known for it's saltwater crocodiles which can be seen in both sections of the River Both cruises are included in your ticket price and you can come back again unlimited times for 30 days.

Daintree River Fishing and Photography Tours

Daintree River Fishing and Photography Tours is a reef/river fishing and nature tour with local owner/operator guide David Patterson, having over 24 years experience fishing and living on the Daintree River. This tour targets Coral trout,Spanish Mackeral Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Fingermark, Trevally and Mudcrabs (when in season) whilst enjoying the wildlife and scenic beauty of the Daintree River. Groups of four to 16 people by prior arrangement can be made. Discounts are available. Personal Charters have the boat for yourself with Dave as your guide. You have a choice of two boats, electric engine and removable canopy. Recommended for fly, lure fishermen, birdwatchers and nature photographers. Boat One - seven metre Sharkcat. Boat two - five metre Barra Punt. All tours depart from the public wharf at the Cape Tribulation Ferry Crossing. Phone bookings are essential.
