1830 Restaurant & Bar

With sweeping views of the Penitentiary, gardens and grounds, the 1830 restaurant is a perfect place to enjoy a long, relaxed meal with friends while visiting the Port Arthur Historic Site. Our menu uses fresh seasonal produce sourced from local growers and producers, and you can choose your favourite from our range of fine Tasmanian wines, craft beers, whiskeys and spirits. The 1830 Restaurant and Bar is open from 4pm with meals served from 6pm. Bookings are recommended.

McHenry Distillery

Located at Port Arthur, McHenry Distillery is Australia's southern-most whisky distillery. As well the Distillery specializes in premium spirits including Gin and Vodka. The distillery's southern location takes advantage of the cool, moist maritime environment providing perfect conditions for whisky making. The distillery uses its own abundant clear spring water that flows directly into the distillery and becomes the heart of the developing spirit. You can visit and experience hand-made single malt Tasmanian whisky and other high quality spirits like gin, slow gin and vodka. The McHenry Distillery have a new Cellar Door at the Distillery and are open Monday to Sunday 10am - 4pm . If you cant make it to Port Arthur we have a weekly stall at Salamanca Market and a shop open 7 days a week at the new Brooke Street Pier on Hobart's waterfront. Tours are available by appointment.

Port Arthur Lavender

Port Arthur Lavender is situated on the waterfront at Long Bay, just a five-minute drive from the iconic Port Arthur Historic Site. Set on 18 acres or lavender fields, rainforest and lakes, it provides the perfect stop on your travels. You can roam amongst the lavender, interactively learn about the manufacturing and distilling process in our distillery, enjoy delightful lavender-cuisine and buy unique Tasmanian gifts created from our lavender.
